Finding God as Love

My True Self (and my Creator) Revealed in Action

I am most truly myself

when I see, hear, think, judge, love, believe, hope.

I access my self

when I act.

By being open to experience,

by searching for meaning,

by seeking truth,

by giving myself in Love,

by living in faith,

I find my true self

as a meaning-making self,

as a truth-seeking self,

as a self in Love.

I am always interacting with the Cosmos,

never apart.

My open,

self-transcending self,

disclosed in the consciousness

of myself in action

is my first true inkling about my Creator.

God has meaning to me,

not as a puzzle to test me,

not as an idea that casts a positive light on all,

but as fulfillment of

the dynamic self

that I am.

A Self-Transcending Child of a Self-Giving God

My Self as a self-transcending self

looks for fulfillment

in lfe, meaning, value, relationship, and Love.

Inspired by the Sprit.

my self-transcending existence

is enabled

to break free of cosmic dread

and servitude,

to be Free

with the ultimate mystery of reality

in a nurturing self-giving Love.

The energy of

my Creator’s own Love

has been poured into my heart

through the Holy Spirit.

The self-transcendence I seek

in asking, seeking, knocking at the door,

is fulfilled in

the Self-Giving Love by God.

My own self-transcendence

is truly a connection

to the Creator,

the Triune God.

Being Human is Questing

To be human

in a self-transcending mode

means that I must live within

an horizon of limitless mystery.

Even as the mystery attracts me,

I must resist the effort

to possess it or

to comprehend it.

Through human consciousness,

the universe becomes

aware of itself

as meaningful,

a limitless realm

of intelligibility.

My questions can be answered,

only serving to raise more questions.

Explanations can be given,

only raising more questions.

The universe appears to be

just one big Question,

What is the meaning

of all that has been found meaningful?

My Existence in Divine Love

The fulfillment of my existence

is akin to

a transcendent

Being-in-Love.

How does that relate to the Divine?

God is the Original Lover,

loving without the need for human merit.

As a child of God,

the gift of Love has been infused in me,

as mystery.

God’s Love is manifest in creation

as Divine Self-Involvement,

Self-Uttering Word.

I have become conscious of it

through recognition and affirmation of

my worth.

The Word became flesh.

My self-transcending self

unfolds in the presence of

the Self-Giving God.

True Love, Divine Love, is Unconditional,

even to the point of crucifixion,

ultimate Self-Giving.

I Respond to such Love

in my own self-giving.

Love cannot be not defeated.

Living in the Energy of

Transformative Love,

I can experience

a Peace nothing else can give,

a Joy no one can take away.

it is a Love

nothing can diminish,

a Life Beyond Death.

Love is communicative,

inspiring Faith, Hope, and Love

in Truth.

The Gift of Love

forms the Body of Christ,

True Church,

the People of God.

When I collaborate with Divine Love,

I am in Communion

with all of Church.

The Unconditional Divine Self-Giving

looks to

a new heaven and earth,

a new creation,

when all shall be one,

when God will be everything to everyone,

the Kingdom of God,

my hope for

the Ultimate Vision of God.

Being In Love

I can only make my way

through my passion for human existence

to self-realization

through self-transcendence

by seeking

Meaning,

Truth,

Value,

Beauty,

Sacredness,

and

Love.

This self-transcendence

is not a journey into the meaningless,

or the imaginary,

or something

unwise, untrue, or unreal.

It is to be in a state of

Being-in-Love.

When I am in

an authentic state of Being-in-Love,

I sense the True Worth of

the object of my Love.

When I am

a Being-in-Love,

I seem ever disposed

to reach beyond myself

into the Other’s world of experience,

manifesting itself in

compassion and collaboration.

With the Divine,

it is not that God has Love,

but that

God is Love.

God is unrestricted pure

Being-in-Love.

God as Being-in-Love

is fully conscious,

a state of utter

self-transcendence,

an infinite affirmation

of the worth of such Love,

an unrestricted commitment

to being Love

in every conceivable instance.

The Divine Being-in-Love

implies a three-fold subjectivity:

The Creator as the Originating Lover,

The Savior as the Self-Expression of that Love,

The Spirit as the Inexhaustible Loving in Action.

 God is

infinite self-realization in Love,

where Love and Self-Transcendence

are utterly identified.

Whereas I have to reach and expand

in order to achieve

Being-in-Love,

God is totally in that state.

The Divine Mystery

is an eternally self-constituting activity of

Being-in-Love,

One Divine Consciousness

articulated as Trinity.

It is Love

without origin,

uttering itself in Truthful self-expression,

always True to itself in Self-Giving.

The Mystery of God as Love

God as Love

is Mystery

communicated by analogy

with what I find

in myself.

I am my best self

when

I am Being-in-Love,

when I am most self-transcending

to what is Good and Loveable

as with God.

But God does not simply have it;

God is this Love

in utter transcendence

in the self-expressive Word,

and the unrestricted Self-Giving

of the Spirit.

The Love

that God eternally is,

keeps on being Love.

The Divine Self-Communication

and my human self-transcendence

meet

in the context of the Mystery of Love.

In my experience of the reality

of the Self-Giving God,

the Love that

brings me into being

is revealed.

 

The Triune God of Love

God occurs in my experience

as Mystery

of

Love,

an original

self-giving Love,

establishing its own Truth

and

meaning in the Word,

endlessly creative

in the abiding Spirit.

God is Mystery

of

Being-in-Love.

This Self-Giving Love

presupposes

a Self in the Giver,

a Self in the Gift,

a Self in the Giving,

the Trinity.

The Mystery of this Triune God

is the revelation of

Love’s Source,

Love’s Meaning,

Love’s Transforming Power.
