A Non-noun God

St. Irenaeus of the second century

told us

We can never see God as an object,

only by sharing in

God’s own self-understanding.

This self-understanding of God

is grounded in Love,

in Compassion,

in Loving Kindness

towards others, the world,

and ourselves.

Union with God

is union with one another,

with creation,

with the reality of God’s Love.

It is Union without loss of personhood,

to unite without destruction of the Other,

the nature of True Love.

The Holy Spirit

works within us

helping us to grow,

in knowledge,

in Freedom,

In Love,

leading us to

our fullest potential.
